The exhibition „GLANZ UND GLAMOUR 200 Jahre Lobmeyr“ at the MAK presented over 300 objects from the traditional glass manufacturer Lobmeyr. Objects by well-known designers such as Josef Hoffmann and Adolf Loos were exhibited. The objects on display have made a significant contribution to the aesthetic enrichment of various areas of life, from interior design to eating and drinking.

When designing the exhibition, attention was paid not only to the many facets of the material glass but also to the issue of sustainability through the reuse of materials. Around 65% of the fittings were made from archive material, and only 35% were newly acquired. This approach made it possible to create a cost-effective and sustainable exhibition. All this without aesthetic restrictions. Visitors entered the exhibition space through a four-meter-high mirror room with a specially developed sound installation made of drinking glasses. The main rooms were equipped with presentation displays at different heights. This design made it possible to overlay various glass techniques from different eras. The special eye-catcher in the center of the exhibition was a collection of radiant chandeliers.
