The Mayrhofer family has been running the Schutzengel pharmacy in Linz as a family business for four generations. The pharmacy has been located at Herrenstraße 2, in a listed corner building opposite the Linz Landhaus, since 1916. The range of services is aimed at customers looking for both conventional medicine and alternative and complementary treatment methods. There is a particular focus on herbal expertise, to which a spacious area is dedicated.

The interior of the pharmacy combines tradition and modernity and reflects over 170 years of history right up to the technological present. Freestanding shelves made of dark-stained ash are based on the traditional pharmacy design, complemented by elements that radiate calm and well-being. The individual areas have been given greater emphasis, particularly the herbal area, which now has a more prominent design. In addition, a quiet area has been created for consultation and discussions, which offers discretion through spatial separation. Technological advances have also been introduced: Digital price tags, which were specially designed using 3D printing, ensure a modern presentation of the products. Screens in the sales room inform customers about the pharmacy, its history and the diverse range of products.
