Stift St. Florian, 950 years
Exhibition
2021
St. Florian’s Abbey, one of the largest and best-known monasteries from the Baroque period in Austria, is celebrating its 950th anniversary with a special exhibition.
Under the title IMMER. NOCH. DA., the Order of Augustinian Canons gives an insight into life in the monastery, its history and architecture, as well as its extraordinary art collection.

An exciting journey through the rooms of the Neue Galerie via a light & audio installation in the Meditation Chapel to the impressive Summer Refectory:
The impressive former dining room where a long table invites you to linger and read. The exhibition furniture, made from regional wood staves, is of high quality in keeping with the monastery’s standards, yet simple and restrained in design. The striking graphics in contrast to the architecture in bright red constantly emphasize the all-encompassing question: What does your heart beat for?
